“The century demands violence, but all we have are abortive explosions. Revolutions are half-baked, or they succeed too quickly. Passion fades away immediately. Men retreat into ideas. Nothing lasts more than twenty-four hours. We live a million lives in the span of one generation.”
We are used to frenzy, addicted to speed. We’ve signed a zero-hours contract with our time. We fight to steal a bunch of hours for ourselves, and when we finally have them, we forget what we were supposed to do with them.
With the help of Henry Miller’s words and the people who fill my days, I will tell those small moments of slowness, which boldly slip into the images of the everyday.
